Mr. Elex Icon writes the Wordbound series, beginning with Frogs & Fog: A Murkmire Mystery, from a hobby farm in Montana where peacocks patrol like editors, ducks hold philosophical debates, and a pig called Augustus Gluup supervises snacks.
His stories blend mystery with imaginative world-building, inviting readers into Murkmire Manor and beyond. He prefers clean, character-driven intrigue and a touch of sly wit. The series’ visual identity leans Art Deco with geometric balance, crisp lines, and a flat-gold accent that also appears on the book covers.
Inspired by authors such as Tom Robbins, Douglas Adams, Jack L. Chalker, Christopher Moore, James Morrow, L. Frank Baum and Ruth Plumly Thompson, along with Stephen Donaldson, Stephen King, R.A.Salvatore (Elex used to sell him milk when working at a convenience store!), David Farland, David Eddings… well, you get the idea. He read voraciously and still does.
Current focus: refining Wordbound: Book 1 – Frogs & Fog materials, expanding the illustrated personae, and continuing series development in Book 2 Noctavira Basin: Verdant Gathering.
